  I.A. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

THE KING'S SCHOOL OF AERONAUTICS offers an excellent four day preparation course for the A&P Mechanic wishing to obtain his Inspection Authorization rating.  Computer testing the next day (Friday).

To be eligible for an Inspection Authorization, the FAA requires the applicant to:
(1) Have held his A&P rating for a three year period before applying for testing, and have been actively engaged in aircraft maintenance the 2 year period prior to applying for testing.
(2) Have a fixed base of operations.
(3) Have available to him, the equipment, facilities, and Inspection data necessary to properly perform the IA duties.
(4) Pass the computer tests.
If you are in doubt about your qualifications, it is best to discuss it with your FAA maintenance inspector nearest you.

  Class Schedule and Study Materials:

KING'S SCHOOL OF AERONAUTICS Inspection Authorization course begins the first Monday of each month, except those weeks containing school holidays (see class schedule page for starting dates and holiday listings). It is a four day course with the FAA Computer test given on the fifth day most of the time.

Your tuition pays for the books, that you get to keep, and the FAA test.  All you have to bring is the 8610-1 form signed by the FAA and two pieces of identification, (one with your picture).
